It is important that you ask for accommodations if you need them in the workplace. It is not unreasonable for them to provide you with equipment that might help you do your job.
The accommodations you may need to do your job is up to you and your workplace. An occupational therapist will be able to help with what you need, and may be able to suggest new and different ways of doing things to help you work.
Figure out the right accommodations for you by considering how working is impacting your body and mind. For example, sitting in a chair all day might give you bruises, make you stiff or lead to dislocations and even with the best ergonomic foam padded chair your still uncomfortable. Solutions such as having walking meetings, lots of pillows or working from home so that you can work in bed with your pressure points protected might be the answer.
