The ACT Reproductive Health Data Incentive Fund supports doctors, health workers and services to provide medical abortion care to Canberrans at no cost to the patient. This includes:
- your appointments with your doctor or nurse,
- ultrasounds,
- blood tests,
- medications,
- long-acting contraception insertion and devices (such as an intra-uterine device (IUD) or contraceptive implant) if you choose to have them,
- follow up appointments.
The Fund pays medical practices, clinics and services a fee for quality improvement activities, including providing basic demographic data (such as your age range and postcode) and some
information about the services you use.
To take part in the Fund, your medical practice, clinic or service agrees to provide health care to
you at no cost. This is the case even if you do not have Medicare.
The Fund and the data collected are managed by Women’s Health Matters (WHM), with funding from the ACT Government.
